Dr. Goldstein Specializes in Laser Vision Correction
As the phenomenon of Laser Vision Correction or LASIK, sweeps across Southeastern Michigan, Dr. William Goldstein is at the forefront of his surgical field. he was one of the first surgeons in the state trained to perform LASIK, which painlessly reshapes the front of the eye to correct nearsightedness, astigmatism and farsightedness. Since 1994, Dr. Goldstein has been helping patients to eliminate or reduce their dependency on glasses using the latest surgical techniques. "The excimer laser, which I use to perform LASIK, has revolutionized the field of vision correction," states Dr. Goldstein. "Patients cna have both eyes done at the same sitting, and in less than 2 minutes their cornea is permanently reshaped. "The laser surgeries use an excimer laser, a "cold'Laser that does not cut or burn tissue. Instead, it breaks molecular bonds between cells so that controlled amounts of tissue can be vaporized away. The amount of tissue to be removed is customized for each patient depending on their degree of error.
A commonly asked question is "How long does the surgery last? Will I need more surgery in a few years?". The answer is "No"! The changed induced in the cornea is permanent. Dr. Goldstein has also made a 'lifetime commitment' to his patients' vision correction. "My patients know that long term care is the most important thing to me. I am not happy unless they are happy with every aspect of their care." The initial consultation is offered free of charge, and the postoperative care is provided for free for the first year after surgery.
