Reading vision Detroit, Bionic eyes in the works By William Goldstein on January 13, 2012

Reading vision Detroit becomes worse and worse as we get into our mid to late 40's. Perhaps the most frustrating day-to-day problem is the inability to see our phones, emails and text messages. Help may be just around the corner!

According to the developers at Washington University, users could view floating emails and text messages as well as augment their sight with computer-generated images. They say it has been successfully tested on animals (presumably those with email accounts) and when problems such as finding a decent power source are ironed out it could be ready for market.

These lenses may also some day make augmented reality more feasible. The idea here is that the lenses could also project information about the buildings you are looking at, or information about stores or restaurants that are in your view!

For now, we are stuck with monovision or ReLex surgery. More info is available on the website, 2020vision.com
