LASIK, the acronym for Laser-assisted in-situ Keratomileusis is a surgery done to correct vision in individuals who suffer from nearsightedness or farsightedness. People with astigmatism can also undergo LASIK.

LASIK surgery and side effects


A few patients experience little discomfort during the first day after the completion of LASIK eye surgery. Patients can experience few temporary side effects which include:


  • Difficulty while driving at night

  • Fluctuation of vision

  • Glare and Haloes

  • Dry eye


Before the surgery, your eye surgeon will brief you on what to expect during the procedure and after it. Your medical history will also be subject to evaluation and your eyes will be thoroughly examined before the surgery.
