Blurred vision compromises virtually every aspect of your life, often making it difficult or impossible to drive or read.
Glasses have been an effective, trusted means of restoring focus for over 700 years.
There are so many solutions...why glasses?
Today’s Glasses Are Better Than Ever
Glasses Are Affordable
Glasses have a much lower upfront cost than surgery. Unlike contacts, they require little or no ongoing expenses.
A Personal and Stylish SolutionThere is a tremendous variety of frames to choose from. Go as plain or high-fashion as you want.
Simple and Easy to UseWith glasses, there is no need for cleansing solutions or fishing for the contact you dropped into the sink – again.
Glasses vs. LASIKConditions such as glaucoma can make refractive surgery too risky, and if you're under 18, you don't qualify. If you happen to be pregnant or breastfeeding, now is not the time for eye surgery.
Glasses vs. ContactsContacts require dedicated care in order to avoid developing infections. Some of us just don't love the idea of placing a lens directly onto the cornea every day. Glasses eliminate both issues. Glasses may also be a better choice if you suffer from persistent dry eyes or are prone to eye infections.
Glasses vs. Premium IOLs
Cataract patients require at least a monofocal IOL, but there are multifocal options that can minimize the need for glasses. If you are averse to the added expense and don't mind wearing glasses, you may be better off sticking to your specs.
Many people need glasses without even realizing it...
It All Starts with an Exam
Glasses can be acquired in three basic steps:
Day of Procedure
The Do's and Don'ts
- Get a hard case for your glasses
- Use both hands when removing or placing your glasses to avoid bending the frames and misaligning the lenses
- Clean your lenses once a day with warm water and a drop of dish soap, drying them with a cotton or microfiber cloth
- Place your glasses in your pocket or purse without a case
- Leave your glasses in a hot car
- Leave your glasses on countertops or vanities where they can be splashed or sprayed with hair spray or cosmetics
- Wipe dry lenses
- Use paper products to wipe lenses
- Use anything but water or liquids specifically made for lenses when cleaning your glasses

"It is a common misperception that wearing eyeglasses makes your eyes worse, to a point where you cannot go without the glasses. There is no permanent vision change caused by wearing glasses." Burt Dubow, OD
