Non-laser Vision Correction Services
Presbyopic Lens Exchange
Removal of the natural lens of the eye for vision correction is known as Presbyopic Lens Exchange, ReLEx surgery or Clear Lens extraction. It can correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia. This surgery, performed by Dr. Goldstein has the potential to eliminate glasses, even for those patients that wear reading glasses.
Implantable Contacts
Implantable Contact Lenses, also know as ICL’s are a very safe, reversible method of vision correction. Dr. Goldstein was the first in Michigan to perform ICL surgery, and has performed more than any other surgeon in the state. Even patients with extreme levels of nearsightedness and astigmatism may be candidates for this surgery. Dr. Goldstein uses the Visian ICL for this method of vision correction.
IOLs
Intraocular Lens Implants, also known as IOL’s are used for vision correction, and as part of cataract surgery. Dr. Goldstein is the ‘Center of Excellence’ for the Bausch and Lomb Crystalens™ in Michigan. He has implanted thousands of IOL’s including the Trulign Toric, the ReStor multifocal and the Tecnis multifocal lens implants. He uses lens implants to correct all forms of refractive errors including astigmatism.
Glasses and Contact Lenses
Non-surgical options for correction of vision include glasses and contact lenses. Dr. Goldstein and Dr. Braden perform vision examinations, and prescribe both. The 2020 Optical, located on-site, can provide a wide variety of glasses and contacts for almost any patient’s needs. Patients who cannot have surgery, will still gain excellent vision with a high quality eye examination at the Laser Eye Care Center.
